RHODE ISLAND CHAPTER

The Rhode Island Chapter IPMA-HR was established in January 1973, through the consolidation of the Public Personnel Association and the Society of Personnel Administration.

IPMA-HR is a non-profit membership organization for individuals and agencies interested in the Association’s objectives.  Members are located in federal, state and local governments through the US and other countries. The following objectives guide IPMA programs and policies:

  • Promote excellence through the ongoing development of professionals and ethical standards and personal and career development.
  • Enhance the image of human resource professionals by recognizing their contributions to public service.
  • Foster fairness and equity by promoting application of merit principles and equal opportunity for all.
  • Encourage research and development in human resources management.
  • Promote communication and sharing of information among public sector human resources professionals.

Rhode Island IPMA-HR welcomes new members!  Any individual engaged in work related to the practice or teaching of public sector human resources, or interested in IPMA objectives is eligible for membership.  Your RI membership also provides you with membership to the Eastern Region and an affiliated membership to IPMA-HR, our international association.
