- The Eastern Region IPMA-HR is pleased to congratulate Cheryl Cepelak (Connecticut Chapter) as the recipient of the 2009 Eastern Region IPMA-HR Frank H. Densler Award. This award was established in 1979-80 to recognize a person in government who has contributed significant direction and effort in improving the vitality of the IPMA-HR Eastern Region and the field of public human resource administration. Cheryl's long and distinguished record of service and achievement in both IPMA-HR and in the human resources profession makes her an ideal recipient.
The Densler Award will be presented to Cheryl at the 2009 IPMA-HR Eastern Region Awards Luncheon. The Awards Luncheon is being held on Monday, October 5, 2009 in conjunction with the 2009 IPMA-HR Eastern Region Training and Development Conference in Mystic, Connecticut.

Eastern Region President Bill Cole, IPMA-CP, was chosen as the IPMA-HR representative to the Public Sector People Managers’ Association (PPMA) conference in London. The conference is being held from March 22-23, 2010 at the Hilton Metropole Hotel. This exciting opportunity is part of the Personnel Manager’s Exchange Program that allows representatives from each organization to attend the other’s annual conference. Bill will be blogging on the IPMA-HR website during his time in London, and will be writing an article for HR News highlighting his experiences at the PPMA Conference.
